BridgeUp is a revolutionary FinTech platform that provides non-dilutive capital to SaaS and subscription-based businesses. By treating recurring revenue as an asset class, BridgeUp allows companies to bid their future cash flows to institutional investors for immediate growth capital.
The Challenge
The primary goal was to build a seamless, “zero-friction” marketplace that could ingest massive amounts of financial data, evaluate risk in real-time, and provide an intuitive dashboard for both companies (sellers) and investors (buyers).
Key hurdles included:
Data Accuracy: Ensuring 100% precision in calculating “Tradeable ARR” and churn rates.
Security: Handling sensitive financial credentials via SOC2-compliant architectures.
Scalability: Processing real-time data from multiple third-party integrations (Stripe, Chargebee, QuickBooks).
My Role & Execution:
I served as a Full-Stack Developer, focusing on the core engine that connects financial data to the marketplace. My workflow followed these key phases:
API Integration & Data Ingestion: I spearheaded the integration of Stripe, Plaid, and various ERP systems. I built robust webhooks to sync subscription data, ensuring that the platform’s valuation of a company’s revenue was always current.
Risk Evaluation Engine: Developed the logic to calculate “BridgeUp Scores” based on MRR growth, retention rates, and customer concentration. I used [mention technology, e.g., Node.js/Python] to process these metrics efficiently.
Frontend Dashboard: Crafted a high-fidelity dashboard using React and D3.js to visualize financial health. The goal was to make complex financial data “skimmable” for CEOs and CFOs.
The Marketplace Logic: Built the bidding system where investors could view anonymized company profiles and place bids on “revenue blocks,” ensuring a fair and transparent auction process.
Results & Impact:
Successful Launch: Played a key role in taking the platform from Beta to a fully functional marketplace.
Efficiency: Automated 90% of the financial auditing process, allowing the BridgeUp team to scale without a massive increase in manual headcount.
User Growth: Supported the onboarding of hundreds of SaaS companies, facilitating millions of dollars in traded revenue.
