The Big E, #digital revolution.
The Big E : E-learning, E-shopping, E-banking, E-governance, E-groups.
Who knew that the only thing that would remain constant in this ever-changing and ever-evolving world would be the Internet? I mean what a time it is to be alive, it’s like the collapse of Rome, but with WiFi.
It’s not like Internet wasn’t an important part of our lives, but in recent times Internet has become the essential need for survival. It can rightly be concluded that the digital needs have become one of the basic needs of humankind.
That being said, it is really important to know how these changes are going to impact us in a long time. To know what is the capability and potential of “The Big E” buzzwords. To know what the future has for us, we need to explore “The Big E“, because all the billionaires of the world have realized this need of time.
It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.
E-learning:
With this sudden shift away from the classroom in many parts of the globe, some are wondering whether the adoption of online learning will continue to persist? If yes, how such a shift would impact the worldwide education market?
While some believe that the unplanned and rapid move to online learning – with no training, insufficient bandwidth, and little preparation – will result in a poor user experience that is unconducive to sustained growth, others believe that a new hybrid model of education will emerge, with significant benefits.
I believe that the integration of information technology in education will be further accelerated and that online education will eventually become an integral component of school education. But affordability and learning effectiveness would play an important role here.
E-shopping:
It is a form of electronic commerce which allows consumers to directly buy goods or services from a seller over the Internet. The B2B and B2C processes involved would have many different levels ranging from local, interstate and global.
Grocery e-shopping has soared primarily after shoppers turned online to find the goods they needed but weren’t available at their local grocery stores. In addition to grocery, E-commerce covers a wide number of products, across categories sold by technology giants like Amazon, Alibaba and Flip-kart by implementing new innovative technologies in the supply chain management, customer conversion using data analytics and attractive discounts.
While e-commerce sales do not generally appear to be skyrocketing as one might expect, there are some exceptions. One of these is in subscription and convenience services, which have seen significant upward trends in both revenue and conversion.
E-banking:
E- banking also known as internet banking, e-banking, or virtual banking, is an electronic payment system that enables customers of a bank or other financial institutions to conduct a range of financial transactions through the financial institution’s portal.
Major banks have already adapted themselves to serve the need of changing times by integrating services like UPI, Instant Money Transfer, Block-chain and Fin-tech implementation.
The next step in this direction that the intelligent minds could implement would be to make banking transactions and information storage more secure and find a new process that could verify bank customers more vividly during the Account Opening, Loan Granting processes.
E-governance:
E-governance, that expands to electronic governance, is the integration of Information and Communication Technology in all the processes, with the aim of enhancing government’s ability to address the needs of the general public. In short, it is the use of electronic means, to promote good governance.
In this attempt, many of the police forces have gone online to solve citizen grievances and complaints. On the similar grounds, there is a big stigma that Technology could only be used for this purpose by other departments too. Be it responding to tweets, offering instant services to people who are in non favorable conditions, it has only revolved around communication.
But can’t technology expand to other domains? Like online voting implemented on a Block-chain Platform, Parliamentary sessions over Video conferences wherein there would be no fights because only the speaker has the power to choose the candidate who would speak. Think about it.
E-groups:
This is the most favorite category of the maximum number people world wide. The only thing that keeps everyone entertained all the time. The only thing that lets people know what the other person is up-to. Yes, you guessed it right, E-groups a.k.a Social Media.
Starting from E-mails that were initially used to send messages over long distances, the world has come to such a stage wherein today people are so influenced by these communication mediums that the future of countries and it’s people is being manipulated by Social Networking giants.
The technology in this field has become so advanced that these platforms correctly predict what type of a person you are and what likely you are going to do next based merely on your online behavior.
E-xperience:
Imagine what it might be like to live and work in an advanced world. XR or Extended Reality is an umbrella term used to describe immersive technologies that can merge the physical and virtual worlds, you might be able to shop for a new furniture anywhere in the world as if you were actually on-site or head to lunch in some faraway land
XR is an emerging umbrella term for all the immersive technologies. The ones we already have today—Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR) plus those that are still to be created.
Of-course, the cost of implementing the technology needs to come down and also the XR technologies collect and process huge amounts of very detailed and personal data about what you do, what you look at, and even your emotions at any given time, which has to be protected.
As each day passes, we are one step closer to solving these issues so that we will see many more mainstream applications of all XR technologies over the coming years.
